Persona App UI/UX
Persona is a mobile app that helps users understand and reflect on their personality traits. It visualizes key traits like integrity, humor, trustworthiness, drive, intelligence, hard work, and being good-hearted through interactive UI elements and personalized dashboards.
We look online to social media and other platforms, to gather details and information about the people we meet. Almost everything we see is handcrafted and curated by the person we are collecting information about.
Designing the Persona App gives us the opportunity to achieve the goal of getting to know a person even before you meet them.

Persona UI/UX Case Studies
Client: Persona (Internal Product)
Platform: Mobile (iOS/Android)
Duration: 8 Months
Tools Used: Paint Code, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator
UI Challenges:
Representing abstract personality traits visually without relying on stereotypes.
Creating a system that is both personal and universally understandable.
Balancing playful design with emotional sensitivity.
Solution:
Trait Color Coding: Each personality trait was given a unique color, icon, and motion behavior to evoke specific feelings. For example, intelligent used blue for trust and consistency, while humor used bright green and playful micro interactions.
Trait Rings UI: Designed a "persona ring" system — concentric, animated circles that expand with the strength of each trait.
Personalized Avatars: Users could create avatars with trait-influenced animations. A trustworthy user might have steady, calming movements, while a driven user might have fast-paced, vibrant gestures.
User Testing: 200 participants across varied demographics reviewed visual interpretations. Emotional resonance and usability were scored, leading to iterative refinements.
Outcome:
83% of users felt their trait representation was accurate.
Average daily engagement increased by 29%.
Persona was featured in “Apps for Self-Discovery” by Google Play.
Mobile Tab Navigation
A simple menu that can navigate the user from screen to screen. This navigation style was selected to be the top candidate due to it’s user friendly UI and overall navigation sequence. A set of three underline colors were used per tab to distinguish the different screens, along with a desaturated fade to show inactive pages.
Notification Edge Cases
In the Persona app, we anticipated edge cases such as incomplete trait inputs, contradictory personality selections, and data sync interruptions. To handle these gracefully, we designed error messages that were empathetic, clear, and action-oriented.
Conclusions
The Persona app tackled complex UI problems by blending emotional intelligence with strong design principles. The result was an intuitive, visually-rich experience that helped users understand and express their unique personality traits such as integrity, humor, trustworthiness, drive, intelligence, hard work, and being good-hearted — with respect, creativity, and empathy.
